Tahlia brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the national conversation on women and the criminal justice system.
She is the founder of Project:herSELF, a non-profit social enterprise established in 2024 to support previously incarcerated women to rebuild their lives.
Project:herSELF delivers a structured release program, one-on-one peer mentoring and prison reform advocacy, and is the only service-delivery social enterprise in Australia that employs exclusively women with conviction histories.
Tahlia's own journey is one of courage and resilience. A former ice user, she was sentenced to two years' imprisonment in 2018. Following her release, she completed degrees in both business and criminology, and is today a wife, mother of two and a powerful advocate for women navigating the justice system.
